Ask about every stage before deciding
A clear consultation should cover surgery, anaesthesia, provisional and final teeth, healing, eating, cleaning, reviews, likely timescales, fees and what happens if treatment needs to change. Some suitable patients may receive provisional fixed teeth sooner than others; no single pathway applies to everyone.
Long-term care remains essential
Full-arch implant treatment is not maintenance-free. Daily cleaning, professional hygiene, clinical reviews and prompt attention to changes in comfort or function all support the health of the implants and restoration over time.

What All-on-X Means
All-on-X describes a full-arch restoration supported by a planned number of dental implants. The number, position and type of implants are decided for the individual; the phrase does not guarantee that four implants, immediate teeth or one particular technique will be appropriate.
Preparing for Treatment
Planning may involve photographs, digital scans, X-rays or three-dimensional imaging, assessment of the remaining teeth and gums, and a review of medicines, smoking and medical conditions. You should receive time to consider the alternatives, likely stages, fees and maintenance commitments before consent.
Recovery and Provisional Teeth
Swelling, tenderness and dietary adjustments are common considerations after implant surgery. A provisional bridge, when suitable, is designed for the healing stage and may need a softer diet and careful cleaning. The final restoration is normally planned after the implants and tissues have been reviewed.

Ask who will provide each stage, whether any teeth need removal, what happens if an implant does not integrate, how provisional teeth differ from the final bridge, and which future repairs are chargeable. It is also important to understand cleaning access, hygiene visits and the review schedule.
